Should We Bypass the Ego or Fight It With Its Own Remedies?

For many years I have been reading a lot of spiritual books, and it is clear to me that what we call the ego in spiritual terminology is causing all the suffering in ourselves and in the world around us as well. The ego is controlling our lives and it fills us with fear, worries and anxiety. The ego may convince us that this or that is dangerous, that our dreams can't be fulfilled, that what we want is impossible for all thinkable reasons, etc.

The ego includes everything we have been told by our parents, the school, our relatives, our friends and society in general. Sometimes it seems that we spend most or all of our lives according to the expectations from all our surroundings. Few of us have the time, courage or energy to find out what we really want in our deepest part of our being. Thus in the final stage of their lives a great number of people realize that they have wasted a big part of their time on earth trying to satisfy the expectations of others, rather than doing what they really wanted themselves.

It is obvious that we must try to minimize the influence of this ego that causes us so many troubles. One of the methods is to meditate and bypass the ego to enter a more subtle and more harmonious stage of consciousness. The more time we spend in this non-ego state, the less time we give attention to the ego, thus minimizing its influence.

Another method is to try to fight the ego in the ego-conscious mind itself. If we can convince ourselves intellectually that what the ego represents is not appropriate, then with time and effort we can also reduce the bad influence from this ego.

Maybe a good approach would be to combine the two methods. Imagine that we meditate regularly trying to balance our conscious and subconscious mind to become more relaxed and harmonious. If, simultaneously, we constantly try to observe our thoughts and behavior and every time we encounter an inappropriate ego-thought we immediately exchange this thought with a constructive one, then our whole perception of the world should change.

Since the ego includes what we have learned from our surroundings, it is obvious that the evolution of society will affect the ego as well. Societies also have a certain morality, and the more spiritually developed the societies, the less harmful the egos ought to be.

Considering that societies are moving in the right direction, the next generations will be less egocentric and more spiritual. In the meantime we can make our own personal efforts to handle our proper egos in the best way.

Of course, I am aware that we don't all have the same perception of what is appropriate or inappropriate. Some people are very spiritual and others are not. I suggest that we fight the ego, but maybe others are living their lives on the ego's terms and having no problem with that. However, I hope that this article can be of some inspiration.

Let's Concentrate on Personal Development!

Let's Concentrate on Personal Development!

These days, watching TV, listening to the radio, reading newspapers or internet news is real torture: nothing but sickening scenes, a horrible litany of killings, bombings, murder, rape...

It's no use dwelling on the "reasons" or justification put forward by those who perpetrate such deeds.

However, one thing is obvious: at the root of all conflicts, there is manipulation by so-called "leaders" and here is an undeniable fact for you:

If every human being just decided to ignore these so-called leaders and concentrate on personal development, that would be the end of all conflicts between people and groups of people.

So, I say to you:

- Concentrate on your personal development.

- Never allow yourself to be manipulated by politicians, religious leaders, or any type of leaders. More often than not, such people are hardly able to lead themselves.

- God is everyone's God. If you believe in God, you can lead yourself to Him (or Her, for that matter). You certainly don't need anybody for that.

- As much as possible, look at human beings for what they are i.e. as individuals, not as members of a group, class, race, religion, country, culture, color, race, gender etc.

- Go straight for the "humanity in all human beings"

Of course, we are all more or less influenced by the society we were born into, the culture we grew up in, the language we speak. But deep inside, we all have something in common.

Maybe the only thing that could force human beings to unite and actually love and appreciate one another would be invaders from another planet, all set to destroy any being with that universally human quality: humanity. So, however deep inside you you'd try to hide your humanity, they'd have
a special device to sniff it out and destroy you.

Then of course, we'd all have to assume our common humanity, get together, and fight back.

So, if we must be "group-conscious", then let that group be Mankind, or - why not after all - the whole Universe and everything that exists.

Meanwhile, let's just concentrate on our own personal development. In the process and in other articles, I'll tell you about "know yourself", "love yourself" and "agree with yourself"

But "what" may you ask, "has all this got to do with Health, Beauty, and Wellness?".

The answer lies in one single word: BALANCE. Know yourself, love yourself, agree with yourself and you'll achieve
physical, psychological, moral and spiritual balance.

And THAT, my friend, is the ultimate health, beauty, and wellness secret tip. But please always remember: "Let's know each other to better know ourselves"

Money Makes a Man Motivated

If there is one thing that everyone needs and wants and dreams and thinks about – it is money. There are people for whom money means nearly everything while there are some others who believe money is the root of all evil. No matter what you believe, there is no denying that money is very important today. Interestingly, money can be used to motivate yourself very easily.

The primary power of money resides in its ability to let your buy things. The secondary function of money here becomes satisfaction or providing you with “entertainment” or “enjoyment” of the things you buy with it. Can you make use of these powers of money to increase your self motivation? Yes, you can.

Money is a perfect goal for two major reasons. Firstly, it is measurable. You can easily measure how much money you have. And secondly, it enables you to compare your performance.

When you set a certain amount of money as your goal, you can measure and compare if you reached the level your set goal. Of course, your primary goal cannot be money because money is a means to attain other “purposes”. But you can still use the power of money to motivate yourself and through your self motivation skills, you can easily make it a major source of motivation energy.

A quote by David Lee Roth comes to mind – “

Money can’t buy you happiness, but it can buy you a yacht big enough to pull up right alongside it.

We Shall Never Surrender!

We Shall Never Surrender!

These are words from a famous speech given by Winston Churchill after the British evacuation of Dunkirk in 1940.

For those of you of a younger generation who have not studied history, search for the speech on the net, and read the last paragraph slowly. Even today, one cannot fail to be moved to action by the stirring words.

Though the words were written 60 years ago, they still have relevance to us today, even though our problems are miniscule when compared to Churchill’s.

You see, when the going got really tough, he didn’t say “OK Adolf, you win, I give up” – he just got more determined, and instilled this determination in his people. If only Britain had a leader that could do that today!

There are many stories of people who never gave up. Remember Edison, and his perseverance to perfect the electric light bulb?

You may not like Sylvester Stallone as an actor, but when you read the story of how he pestered studios to get the first “Rocky” movie off the ground you begin to have new admiration for the man. Even though he was virtually broke, he turned down several offers from studios to make the film without him in it, but he rejected them all because he believed in himself and his project.

However, we have one big advantage over those people – the road to success has already been trodden by others before us. In order to succeed, all you have to do is what they did! That sounds pretty obvious, but it is surprising how many people do not realize this, or even worse, do recognize it and do nothing about it.

In this age of search engines, there is virtually no topic unexplored, no information on any subject withheld. We only have to type in any subject, and up will come hundreds, if not thousands of pages of information on that subject. Included in those pages will be the names of people who will help you in any endeavour, admittedly for a price. All you have to do is sort out the scammers from the genuine people, and again any search on their name will bring up comments about them to help you decide on their honesty and integrity.

So supposing you have sorted out a subject in which you are interested, and have bought a newsletter or program from a person of integrity, what do you do then?

Unfortunately, all too often the answer is nothing! People start a website, slap on a few half hearted affiliate links, and expect money to start rolling in, and when it doesn’t they give up.

Only the fortunate few decide to roll their sleeves up and say “I’m going to make this work!” And when it doesn’t, they don’t give up – they wait for a while, and if still nothing happens, they still don’t give up. They go back to their mentor or someone else, a forum perhaps, and find out why it isn’t working. In other words, they do an Edison- all they’ve done is found numerous ways which don’t work!

What separates the top 2% from the others is their willingness to keep trying until success comes, and to learn from their mistakes and from the mistakes of others.

If you need motivation to obtain perseverance, just tell your wife/husband and all your friends that you are going to be successful in what you are about to do. The thought of letting them down as well as yourself should provide enough incentive to keep going.

Finally, let us go back to Winston Churchill. When asked to give a speech at Harrow School in 1941, it was during the darkest days of the war. A myth has developed that Churchill stood before the students and said, "Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, give in. Never give in. Never give in. Never give in." Then he sat down. The truth is that he actually gave a full speech, in which the famous quotation is in the body of the speech, not even at the end.
Never mind, it’s still a good story, and for your purposes you only need to remember the quotation.

So, never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, give in. Never give in. Never give in. Never give in.

Then you can sit down....!!!

Motivation through Self Understanding

Time and again, self improvement teachers have pointed out how important self understanding is from the view point of motivation. Every person is different from the other people in the world. There are some unique qualities in each person who lives in the world. How can we use the same motivation techniques to motivate every person then? How can we make the same motivation techniques in a “one size, fits all” manner? The answer is that we can’t.

Since each and every person is different, what stimulates the self motivation and what makes him or her take action differs too. To be able to develop the very important self motivation skills, a person needs to understand his or her self inside out through self discovery.

And self understanding is not very difficult to achieve if done in a proper and systematic manner. Following are some tips for developing a level of self understanding easily:

#1 Question Yourself

Who knows the best about you? Who knows your each and every thought? Who knows how you feel about a thing exactly? No one else but you, yourself. This is why, you must question yourself – Who am I? What are my likes? What are my dislikes? Where do I see myself 20 years from now? Through questioning and prompting, you can develop your self understanding and then use it to motivate yourself very easily.

#2 Observe Yourself

It also helps to observe yourself and your activities daily and regularly. What are some of the things that you enjoy doing everyday? What are some of the things you want to do again and again because you like it? For example, you may like talking to a particular friend. If so, whenever you need some motivation, try to talk to that friend about it. This will boost your motivation levels. Identify such activities through observation and keep them in mind whenever you need to motivate yourself.

#3 Spend Time Alone

Finally, to get anywhere near self understanding, you need to spend sometime alone. Make it a habit to spend some time at least once a week with yourself. Try to find a peaceful and quite place and just sit there. Reflect on what you have done till now. How do you feel about it? Are you happy with what you’ve done so far? If no, then you can identify what you don’t like about it and make necessary changes.

Through self understanding, you can easily achieve the level of motivation you want at anytime you like. And once you have self motivation, there is nothing stopping you from achieving success.

How To Stop Having Problems

One of my friend Vivek Almeida came to me and was tensed due to some problems. Let me share you his story in the email he sent to me.

If you are like me you have probably lost a lot of sleep over the many problems that arise in your life. Sometimes, the problem seems too huge. I become immobilized by the fear. That leads to procrastination and guilt for my inactivity and Presto! My stress level goes through the roof.

Just thinking of the word "problem" is enough to raise my blood pressure.

That is the true power of words! What you put in your mind has an immediate effect on your metabolism. The mind and body are not opposites; they have always been inseparable parts of one amazing organism: You!

So, problems get in the way of positive constructive action.

Problems seem bigger than you. They can be ugly and mean and so distracting.

You could pass up wonderful opportunities to enjoy yourself because you are too wrapped up in your troubles. You may be living a dark future that probably won't happen. The present
moments slip by unnoticed and that's not a good thing!

It's time to stop having problems. It's time to slay the Boogeyman under the bed!

How do I do that?

Well, if you are willing to invest a little mental discipline, there is a very simple technique to follow.

Here it is:

Whenever you find yourself dwelling on some difficulty in your life, ask yourself: Is this a problem or a challenge? Make the right choice. Choose to view it as a challenge.

A challenge is like a contest or a test. It brings out your competitive nature, it inspires action and most importantly a challenge is a contest you can win!

A Problem is 100 Kilograms of emotional baggage.

A Challenge is an Opportunity to enrich your life.

Remember what I said about the mind/body connection?

Which phrase makes you feel more uncomfortable:

  • "serious money problems" or "financial challenges?"

Whenever you hit the next bump in the road you have a choice:

Fill your self with needless stress and anxiety and welcome a new "problem" into your life, or you can say-"Yes! I accept the challenge. I accept the opportunity to improve myself, to strengthen my self-confidence, to grow from the experience and banish fears of unexpected change."

Sukhvinder, I realised that Life is change. Change can be awkward sometimes. We like to
stay with the familiar by nature.
When we resist life's changes we plant the seeds of problems.

If we face our challenges we find fewer things to resist. We find ourselves in the "flow" of life and not caught up in a snag.

This one simple word swap has brought me a bucketful of peace of mind. I get stronger with every obstacle I surmount.

This might work for you, If you try.

The question is: Are you up for a challenge?

6 Tips to Creating Success from the "Inside Out"

Tip 1 : Build a strong foundation

What do I mean by a strong foundation? Would you consider putting a roof on a house unless it had a strong foundation? Of course not! Yet you would be surprised at how many people try to market their services without believing in themselves.

Tip 2: Identify and reprogram your self-limiting beliefs

Here are some typical examples of actual beliefs I have heard over the years:

“Life is a struggle”

“It’s selfish to want more money”

“It’s not safe to toot my own horn”

Can you see why any of these beliefs would stop a person from succeeding? What are your own self-limiting beliefs?

Tip 3: Reverse your self sabotaging strategies

Did you know that we all have a saboteur? We all have our dreams and we all has a part that tries to sabotage them, for our “own good”. For example I was working with a client today, who realized that even though she had a good business plan, she was never able to work her plan because of the resistance form her
Self saboteur.

What are your self sabotaging patterns? How do they show up
In your life?

Tip 4: Use your mind and emotions to create your empire

How many times do you find yourself focusing on what you don’t want? There is something called The Law of attraction. It basically teaches that like energy attracts like energy and you get what you focus on.

So, what do you usually focus on? The lack of clients, the lack of income, the lack of time? Guess what? That will bring in more of the same. So,instead ask yourself, “so, what do I want”?

Tip 5: Learn ways to release your fears

Fear is not real. It is False Evidence Appearing Real (F.E.A.R.)
To create success from the inside out, use a powerful tool like the STOP Technique. The way to do it is to notice whenever your mind goes into a fear thought, after noticing, take a deep breath and the put in an Empowering Thought, like,” I have all I need to succeed.” What positive new thoughts are you needing to hear?

Keep a journal and note how many times a day you use the STOP technique. Congratulate yourself for your vigilance.

Tip 6: Know the value you offer

This may seem hard to believe but in my coaching of coaches, real estate agents, and other professionals I have seen time after time how people fumble with this concept.

Instead, identify your value, i.e. your unique selling point. What are you really good at ? Write a list of what makes you stand out among the competition

Brainstorming for Success and Self Motivation

Today’s world is all about ideas. Time and again it has been proved that revolutionary ideas lead to a huge amount of success for their thinkers. An idea is a perfect source of self motivation and a sure shot way to success.

To be able to generate ideas easily, you can follow a simple 7 step process which will help you brainstorm ideas like a breeze –

#1 Set A Goal

Define an end that you want to achieve. This would help you know your direction and progress and act as a source of motivation.

#2 Generate Ideas

Think of ways and methods you can follow to achieve the end you have set. These ideas can be anything and everything that cross your mind. Let your imagination run wild and write down everything you can think of whether it’s practical or not.

#3 Filter Ideas

From the list you have, strike out the ideas that are not practical. These are ideas which are not executable normally because you are limited by your resources and “social” duties.

#4 Group Ideas

Group similar ideas together. Everytime you group the ideas based on some characteristics, some will be left out of any group. Drop the ideas that fall out of the groups the maximum number of times.

#5 Prepare an Action Plan

Now that you have ideas, prepare and action plan. This action plan will keep you on track and with your self motivation skills,
you can use it to motivate you till you achieve your goals.

#6 List Challenges

List probably challenges that you may face while executing the plan and also list the ways you are going to deal with them. This would again act as a source of self motivation by acting as a stimulant and making you work harder and better.

#7 Take Action

You have ideas, you have an action plan and you know how you will deal with the challenges. Now it’s time to actually take action. Execute your plan. Compare your performance to some standards regularly so that you can know how much further you have to go. It works very well for your self motivation.

The Top Ten Strategies to Employ When You Feel Like Quitting

Ever feel like quitting? "Are you kidding?" you ask, "A better question would be, 'How many times TODAY have I felt like quitting?' " Sure. We've all felt like "throwing in the towel" at one time or another. If you haven't, I suggest that you check your pulse quickly. And here's a real shocker for you: the notion that "winners never quit" is a crock! Everyone - even "winners"- has not only felt like it, but has even quit at one time or another.

The "road of life" that we each travel isn't one endless stretch of flat, paved expressway, but rather, is filled with curves, crests, valleys, detours, potholes and bumps. It is its very unpredictability that makes it so interesting and alluring. We just have to see what's around the next curve. It's that same unpredictability that makes for some real gut-tightening questions and fears as well.

Having said that, I do feel that we, too often, give up on our dreams too easily and quickly - perhaps, just one small step short of success. So what do you do when the going gets tough and you feel like quitting? Here are ten strategies that you can employ when you hit those apparent "roadblocks" on your road of life:

1. Remember the reason(s) you started in the first place. What was the "spark" that caused you to begin the journey? Revisiting that may help rekindle the flame that helps you go on.

2. Ask yourself, "What would I rather be doing?" If nothing compelling comes to mind, then determine the next step you need to take to move you closer to your original destination. If something more compelling does come to mind, maybe you need to quit.

3. List 10 reasons why you CAN keep going. What strengths and resources do you possess that will help you achieve your desired outcome? Just the very act of doing this shifts your focus from the problem to the solution.

4. Give yourself permission to quit. Sounds crazy, but it works. When you set up an internal law that says, "I can't quit." Or "I shouldn't quit", it makes the desire to quit even stronger.

5. Give yourself a need to continue. Rather than focus on why you feel you need to quit, focus on why you need to continue. What's the payoff, the reward waiting for you if you persevere?

6. Stop focusing on the struggle and start focusing on the solution. Whatever you focus on expands. If your focus is on the struggle you are experiencing, that becomes the biggest (and maybe even the ONLY) thing on your "horizon" It blocks out many, if not all, of the creative opportunities and solutions that may be trying to present themselves to you.

7. Take a hard look at your methodology. Tired of getting poor or less than optimum results from your efforts? Then why keep doing things the same way an expecting something different to happen? That's the classic definition of insanity! Ask yourself, "What's the most radical or unorthodox action I could take right now?" Try it.

8. Make a contract with yourself. Write out what you intend to accomplish and how you intend to accomplish it and then give yourself, say, six months to achieve your goal. Sign and date it and keep it where you can see it. You might even impose some kind of "penalty" for breaking the contract - no chocolate for a month, maybe.

9. Get real. Were you enticed by the "illusion" that success is easy? Maybe you were enamored by the "fluff" that if you just want something badly enough, it will find its way to your doorstep. Success is WORK. Pure and simple. It is the result of a certain mindset as well as a set of deliberate actions. If you want to quit something, then quit fooling yourself by thinking it's going to be a "piece of cake".

10. Walk away. Sometimes looking at something too hard or long obscures the solutions. It's the "can't see the forest for the trees" phenomenon. By simply walking away or taking a break from the struggle to solve, you often free your mind to see new options and opportunities.

How to Give Yourself a Motivational Warm Up When You Wake Up

Question:

Sukhvinder, What is the worst thing you can do when you start your day?

Answer:

Wake up feeling lethargic and expect yourself to perform at 100% from the moment you get up in the morning; and then compare how you are doing during the day against this unrealistic benchmark.

There is a better way!

As you wake up in the morning take charge of your thoughts in that early morning awareness before you fully awake.

Do this before you get up out of bed by repeating some affirmations. Affirmations work very well WHEN you say them with strong feelings in a state of deep relaxation.

If you have heard about affirmations before and never got the maximum benefit from them it is because you did not know how to take a very ordinary approach and supercharge it.

Supercharging affirmations depends on four factors:

- Phrasing affirmations in the right way
- Choosing ones that are right for you
- Saying them while in a state of deep relaxation
- Speaking them with strong feeling

But for now...

When you use affirmations correctly their impact will last for at least a few hours - long enough to get you started on the day ahead.

Pay close attention now because I am going to reveal details of some of my personal and very private habits...

I use the following affirmations to help me get up in a positive state of mind:

- Positive thoughts bring me the benefits I desire

- Negative thoughts have no influence over me

- Everyday and in everyway I am getting better and better

To start the day with confidence...

- I am confident and charming with the people I meet

- I radiate confidence and relaxation

- I start great conversations easily and effortlessly

- I approve of myself and feel great about myself

- I have sky-high self-esteem

You can do the same.

Remember to say these affirmations with feeling and do so quietly inside your head while in that relaxed awakening state.

Unless I use this ritual each morning I tend to feel negative about the day ahead. The difference from feeling negative to feeling positive is huge for the sake of those few minutes in the morning.

You can also go one step further and imagine the day ahead working out well. See yourself doing your best and easily dealing with challenges. Imagine yourself feeling confident and behaving in that way no matter who you deal with.

Imagine you will have a great day in this way and you are directing your unconscious to make it happen in the language it understands best - feelings and images.

[Forget about will power.

Will power is a waste of time because it´s like talking to the most powerful part of your mind in a language it does not understand.]

-Sukhvinder

Finding Inspiration to Realise Your Dreams and Ambitions

"Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great." - Mark Twain

Important, such as?

Oh, just little things like attitude, finding inspiration, nurturing your creativity, tenacity ... Simply, learning the secrets to realising your dreams and achieving the success you desire, without going completely nuts in the process.

You do have to find the inspiration, motivation and sheer discipline to work long hours, initially for very little return and without someone supervising you. But, if you can dream it (I am a real day-dreamer!), you CAN make it reality. I used to doubt that, but I have found it to be entirely true. I think you just have to want something enough then do something about it.

Wanting more is normal?

Why the question mark? Doesn't everyone want something better? Can they all have it? If we all got more, who would be left with less? (Normal, I can tell you, is just a setting on a washing- machine!)

Are there people who are as happy as pigs in the proverbial punching in at the factory 5 days a week, watching cricket at weekends, going to bed at 11 p.m. and not wanting more than that? Personally, I think not. There may be some who have not realised yet what their "more" is and there are lots who are afraid to try anything new, but I think deep down, we all want something we don't have.

It isn't always material things, but whatever it is, it is what keeps us striving. And because everyone's "more" will be as unique as the person themselves, then yes, I do believe that we can all have it: i.e. it is worth pursuing your ambitions, no matter how abnormal they may appear.

You'll face problems, overcoming them is the key.

Yeah, that was obvious, wasn't it? You don't need problems, you need solutions and what you may forget is that most of them you already have -- right there in your own mind and attitudes. No, I'm not saying you have an "attitude problem", although I'll admit I've been told I have, many times!

Among the problems I have faced, and I imagine you have or will too, initially stem from needing to take what is virtually a "Leap of Faith" into unknown territory.

If you announce your intentions work for yourself, especially on the net, I'll bet you last year's salary that someone in your immediate circle of family and friends will take a sharp intake of breath ... if they don't actually belly-laugh. Now if that isn't inspiration destroying, I don't know what is!

Failure or learning? It's a question of attitude.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. - Mark Twain

Focus merely on doing what's right for you, now, (even if you suffer the consequences) for only you can regret not trying something if you choose and allow others to influence you to hesitate.

If at first you don't succeed ...

You will read statistics (and actually, they are not lies) that state only 5% of people will succeed. Almost none of them will do it on the first attempt. And this is where the 95% -- that the doubting Thomases above hold as being normal -- simply give up.

It's not because IT doesn't work, it's not because they couldn't have done it. They just didn't have that one elusive secret, quality or knowledge that the 5% do realise they have.

So what's the mystical secret that the 5% have?

Absolutely nothing more than the fact that they do not give up and they know they shouldn't. If their first ideas don't work, they learn why and go on to try something better. Again and again. They keep learning and they keep trying, for which they require inspiration, motivation and a large measure of tenacity. In my dictionary, failure is merely a sinister word that other people give to a natural learning-by-doing process. It ain't a big deal, it's no more than a knee-scrape in the scheme of things. Get back on that bike!

I've tried many things that didn't work for me, but I don't think I have failed, ever.

In fact, I have learned and I am still learning, but the two most important things so far are:

=> Finally, I am seeing results -- the ones that matter to me currently, ones that pay the bills => I am enjoying what I do at last instead of being an opressed wage-slave.

The motivation thus becomes self-fuelling. I am realising a dream.

9 Great Ways To Change Your Life By Changing Your Motivation Style

If you are not as productive as you'd like or tend to procrastinate, you can become motivated by changing your personal style. The trick lies in making the activities you put off more interesting, easier, and less unpleasant.

One way to make a job easier is to break it into smaller jobs. If your task is to file your income tax return, you may view it as time consuming and tedious.

But if you break it into smaller categories such as gather records, download tax software, and prepare a rough draft, the tasks don't seem as difficult and you are likely to complete them in considerably less time.

Some other ways to make those undesirable jobs seem more bearable are to prioritize, use self-discipline, and reward yourself for small accomplishments...

Try to do the least desirable tasks early in the day so you'll look forward to having the rest of the day to concentrate on more pleasant jobs.

Keep in mind that self-discipline is something you do for yourself, not to punish yourself. Make a schedule and stick to it. Don't forget to reward yourself for each step you take in overcoming procrastination.

Positive reinforcement goes a long way in changing negative behaviors.

Here are a few more suggestions as to how you can get motivated and quit procrastinating...

1. Tasks will seem less daunting if you break them into several steps over a few days or weeks. Don't expect yourself to do everything all at once.

2. Don't worry about doing the job perfectly. Once you quit procrastinating, you'll have more time to go back and perfect each particular task. Allowing yourself adequate time to finish a task will give you more time for corrections later.

3. Find a supportive co-worker or friend to help motivate you to get moving.

4. Don't schedule important tasks at a time of day when your energy is low.

5. Reward yourself for reaching critical points in your least favorite jobs. Having something to look forward to is a great motivator.

6. Put the most difficult tasks at the top of your list and work from there.

7. All times of day are not equal. If you are a morning person, then tackle the most difficult tasks when you are at your best earlier in the day.

Reserve your most demanding activities for the time when your energy is at its highest. Save the small jobs that require little thought for the time of day when you are at your lowest productivity level.

Accomplish your tasks efficiently and you will see an improvement in your time management and motivational skills.

8. Start yourself down the road to success by setting clear, attainable goals. Break tasks into smaller pieces so they will seem less difficult. Get organized and prioritize your activities from most important to least important.

7 Tips For Unstoppable Motivation And Enduring Success

1. Success is not achieved accidentally. It is a systematic, deliberate process of deciding what you want to do with your life, what you will do when you get there, and what the steps are to get you where you want to be.

One of the most important aspects of success is the ability to visualize your path and stay focused on your goal until you reach it.

2. The sooner you envision your dreams and develop a plan to turn them into reality, the faster you will accomplish your goals. Mental pictures are a mechanism to lead you down the path of true independence and motivation.

Procrastination is a self-defeating behavior that develops in part due to low self-esteem and fear of failure. Your imagination is like a preview of your future.

If you don't use your imagination your life will remain mundane and unfulfilling.

3. Overcoming procrastination is the first step in helping you create the lifestyle you desire. You must change the habits and behaviors that led you to procrastinate in the first place.

Change is a slow process so be sure to reward yourself along the way for small achievements.

Instead of focusing on the difficulty of a large task, break it into smaller jobs and create a timeline for finishing them.

4. Several small jobs done over time are much more manageable that one large task with no end in sight.

You'll be astonished at how much you can get done if you concentrate on one thing at a time instead of cluttering your mind with multiple tasks.

Try tackling the more undesirable tasks early in the day so that by afternoon you can pursue more pleasant activities.

5. Relieve yourself of the pressure created by clutter in your office or home. Develop a filing system, rid yourself of unnecessary papers, and give yourself an organized place to work.

When you exercise self-discipline in your surroundings as well as your behaviors, you will make major strides in accomplishing your goals in a shorter period of time.

No matter what is happening around you, keep your mind focused on the reward you'll receive by reaching your goals.

6. If people or outside forces distract you, use the power of the human mind to block out what impedes your progress and concentrate solely on the task at hand.

You will make remarkable progress by refusing to let others alter the path you have chosen.

Overcoming procrastination and staying motivated is the way to lifetime success and happiness. You'll achieve your goals rapidly when you stay focused on your destination and the rewards that will follow.

7. Review your habits and way of thinking to determine what you are visualizing most of the time. If your visions do not lead you in the direction of accomplishing your goals, then you must change them.

Discipline yourself to concentrate on your goals the majority of the time, and if you stray from the path, get promptly back on.

Imagine what the rewards will be when you finally reach your destination and keep that thought foremost in your mind.

Procrastination is of no use to you in your quest to fulfill your dreams. Lose those old habits and replace them with habits that lead to self-motivation and control over your life.
